Guwahati April 30, 2007: Impressed by the response from customers in North East, Punjab National Bank (PNB) recently upgraded its regional office in Guwahati to a Zonal office and is on an expansion spree in the region.
By September, the bank will open at least 7 more branches and 11 ATMs in the region. New branches will be in untouched states of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram, said G Banerjee, zonal manager of PNB, which set up its 58th branch in Guwahati.
The bank will open two more branches in Guwahati and upgrade extension counters into branches.
PNB will open ATMs at important railway stations in North East soon. PNB presently has 57 branches in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura and Nagaland.
